Understanding Wolves

Getting a feel for Skoria Wolves

Here, we hope to give you an understanding of Wolves on Skoria. Please keep in mind that we are a realistic site and other than your wolves speaking to one another, having differently colored eyes, and perhaps having markings colored in a way they wouldn't normally (such as a white masked face instead of a black masked face), we expect things to remain within realms of possibility. This means your wolf can not shoot lazer beams from his eyes. He is not perfect. That doesn't mean he can't be an awesome character. We just ask that you do a little bit of research about wolves and their habits before you join to play one.

Wolf Species

We recognize almost all types of wolves on here. The ones we have officially welcomed can be seen in the chart below. Please note that any rare or very rare wolves must be purchased before you can create a character of that type. Furthermore, upon joining the site your wolf must be only one species. Mixed wolves can only occur via breeding on-site. You do not have to adhere to the sizes listed in the chart, but it is recommended so that other users can more easily compare their wolves to your own. Note that some wolves are heavier or lighter despite being in the same height range.

Note that we may accept wolf species that are not on this list. However, anything not on this list should be considered limited and you should consult with a staff member before bringing them in. We do not allow extinct wolf species.

Wolf Appearances

Marking colors...
Wolves come in a variety of sizes, species, and colors. Here on Skoria we accept a large range of colors, including unique eye colors. Wolves can be a range from white, grey, to black or can have red, gold, or tan markings. The markings can be in any natural wild canine pattern and can be of any of the colors on our list. We do accept some toe/leg markings, but any wolf that looks too much like a dog will not be accepted. The staff are here to help you and ensure that your design is acceptable - don't be afraid to ask us before posting your aplication!

Eye colors...
Your wolf can have eyes of any of the colors listed below! Note that they do not have to be the same shade, so long as they are the same color. For instance, their eyes could be light purple or dark purple and still be considered purple. Two eyes of different colors or both eyes being mixed colors must be purchased from the shop prior to acceptance. Please note that we do not accept white eyes unless the character is blind in that eye and has a cataract.

Choosing markings... Markings on wolves here on Skoria must be natural markings found on wild canids. The only exception to this is pikn on the nose or other pink pigmentation which is purchased in the shop. Masks, ears being a different color, capes, socks, toes, tails, tail tips, muzzles, and some eye markings are all just fine! Stripes, spots, and ear tips are not accepted. Also keep in mind that while we do allow white markings as splashes of no-color on the legs, chest, stomach, neck, face, and tail, your wolf should not look like a dog!
