Wolf Fighting
Perhaps your wolf is a troublemaker, or maybe a bear is suddenly in the middle of your den! In these situations your wolf may fight. Fights are broken down into two main categories:
a) Wolf vs. wolf or wolf vs. man
b) Wolf vs predator
In the first case, your wolf may fight another character from the site. Fights may be pre-determined (you and the other player(s) decide at the beginning of the thread which character will win) or judged. In judged fights, a staff member will analyse the entire fight according to the point system described below. The wolf that gains the most points from this analysis will be deemed the winner.
Fights can take occur in various instances; your wolf may challenge for a higher rank, you may just want to practise your fighting skills in a friendly spar, your wolf may be fighting over a mate, or an altercation can break out in the middle of a thread. In some cases, a fight can involve more than two characters. Death matches are allowed, but you must gain approval from the other player and a member of staff has been notified.
In most cases, all players involved will agree upon a fight occurring. In the event that a wolf/human starts a fight with your character and you have no wish to participate in the fight, your next post will consist of ‘submission’. This means that you will lose the fight, but the other player must end the fight. Failure to do so will result in a warning.
POINT SYSTEM BY REDD
With the exception of friendly spars, wolves are likely to get injuries from a fight. Whilst not all injuries will be bad, it is expected that you allow some damage to come to your character during a fight. It is no fun for your opponent to fight against a wolf that always manages to dodge out of trouble. Equally, it is forbidden to power-play your opponent during a fight (or any other thread for that matter). In your post you may state your character’s intentions upon, for example, lunging towards his opponent’s left foreleg. You CANNOT, however, state that your wolf actually made contact with the opponent’s leg. In certain circumstances a player may give you permission to power-play his/her character. This permission needs to be given at the beginning of each post.
Just an in hunting, all moderate and serous injuries must be tended to by a healer within ONE week. If a thread is not started with a healer within that time frame, your wolf will begin losing stats. Additionally, all injuries from fights or hunts needs to be carried over (mentioned) in future hunts or fights until the injury is completely healed. Failure to do so will result in a warning.
In the second type of fight, your wolf will fight a predator. In most cases, more than one wolf is required to take on cougar or bear. The table below indicates the number of wolves required to successfully chase away or kill a predator, and that stats that can be gained for fighting predators.
